JetBlue Airways completes 6 years at Jacksonville

JetBlue Airways recently completed its 6 years of service at the Jacksonville International Airport. The sixth anniversary at Jacksonville was celebrated with much fanfare and a grand reception hosted on the occasion.

JAX Chamber’s JAXUSA Partnership, Jacksonville Aviation Authority and JetBlue Airways jointly organized the reception with regional business leaders.

JetBlue flights to Boston, New York and San Juan from Jacksonville has been quite vital for the region. According to the airline, Jacksonville has been a highly successful market for JetBlue Airways.

The airline had launched its flights to Jacksonville in June 2006. JetBlue Airways flight reservations were available to the passengers as the airline operated three daily flights to Jacksonville from its main hub at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).

Later, the airline launched its first direct daily service to Boston’s Logan International Airport from Jacksonville in 2008. The airline again expanded its Boston service by adding a second daily flight in May 2011. During the same month the airline also launched Jacksonville’s only nonstop service to the Caribbean with direct flights to San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport.
