JetBlue Airways signs codeshare pact with Japan Airlines

New York’s Hometown Airline JetBlue Airways recently announced it has entered into a codeshare agreement with Japan’s national flag carrier Japan Airlines.

The codeshare pact is aimed at expanding the current interline partnership between the carriers’ two networks in Tokyo and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport as well as Boston’s Logan International Airport.
The customers of both the carriers will now be able to travel on a single air ticket. With this agreement, JetBlue flights will be features Japan Airlines’ code.

The start of the codeshare pact coincided with Japan Airlines new flights between Boston and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport.

Japan Airlines is currently offering daily nonstop service to Tokyo from New York JFK. This will also allow customers to continue booking tickets for combined interline travel on Japan Airlines and JetBlue Airways flights through Los Angeles International Airport, making it convenient for travelers to connect for their onward journey to major cities in Asia, such as Beijing, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Shanghai.
