KLM claims solidifying its dominance of long-haul market from Scotland

European carrier KLM recently claimed that it has solidified its dominance of the long-haul market from Scotland. The airline said that KLM flights have carried nearly one in four inter-continental passengers.

KLM, which is operated in association with Air France, disclosed that its Scottish market share has significantly increased to 24 percent last year from 22 percent in 2010.

Henri Hourcade, KLM’s General Manager - UK, said that Scotland is a priority for Air France-KLM and the group’s presence in the Scottish market has become more important than ever now. He also said that KLM is presently the market leader.

Currently, KLM flights are operated six times daily from Edinburgh. The airline also operates five times daily flights from Glasgow and Aberdeen. KLM also has a codershare agreement with Flybe and operates flights to Scotland.

KLM’s partner Air France also operates flights from Edinburgh four times every day. The airline also conducts three times daily flights from Aberdeen.
