Korean Air reports increase in its passenger traffic

Korean Air flights carried more passengers in the first quarter of this year. South Korea’s national carrier recently announced its preliminary traffic results and was quite upbeat at the outcome.

The airline in a statement said that its passenger traffic results showed a remarkable increase during the first three months of 2012 as compared to the same period in 2011.

According to Korean Air, its traffic on the international route increased 12.6 percent during Q1 2012 as compared to the same period last year. Its earning also increased 5.9 percent to $2.47 million (KRW 2.880 billion).

The airline further stated that its international traffic on all routes also grew with Oceania routes witnessing a 23 percent growth in passenger numbers. While, passenger traffic on Southeast Asia and China routes increased 18 percent and 14 percent respectively for Q1 2012.
