Korean Air to operate flights to Jeju from Seoul Incheon

Korean Air recently announced that it will launch flights to Jeju Island from Seoul Incheon International Airport from March 25, 2012.

The starting of new flights is expected to increase the arrivals of foreign tourists to South Korea’s southern resort island of Jeju.

Korean Air will operate daily flights between Seoul’s Incheon International Airport and Jeju International Airport to serve growing number of Chinese and other non-Korean tourists who want to visit Jeju Island.

Currently, Jeju International Airport handles 116 international flights on 12 routes every week, mostly to and from destinations in China and Japan.

The airline in a statement said that the new Seoul Incheon-Jeju route will also help Jeju residents to head overseas as they will not be required to go through Gimpo International Airport now.

Korean Air will deploy 150-seat Boeing B737-800 aircraft to operate flights on the Seoul Incheon-Jeju route.
