Korean Air to stop Melbourne-Seoul flights next year

South Korea’s national flag carrier Korean Air recently announced it will stop flying on its Melbourne-Seoul route from next year.

The airline in a statement said that Korean Air flights between Melbourne and Seoul will permanently stop flying from March 3, 2013.

Korean Air has been operating its flights KE125/126 between the South Korean capital Seoul and Australia’s key city Melbourne three times every week.

The airline regretted causing inconvenience to its customers and said that those who have already booked Korean Air flights tickets on those flights would be offered to take Qantas Airways domestic flight to/from Melbourne for connecting with Korean Air’s Sydney-Seoul flights services.

The airline further stated that the affected ticket holders would also be offered one night’s accommodation in Sydney for misconnecting flights when departing/exiting Australia.

The airline will also be waiving all reissue fees for the affected ticket holders wishing to reroute via Sydney on Qantas Airways. The ticketed passengers would also be waived all refund penalties on flights KE125/ KE126 that were scheduled to operate after March 3, 2013.
