Korean Air unveils its Airbus A380 from Los Angeles International Airport

Korean Air recently introduced its Next Gen massive Airbus A380 from Los Angeles Airport. With the introduction of Airbus A380, Korean Air has become the third airline to operate flights using the aircraft from Los Angeles. The other two airlines to operate flights out of Los Angeles using Airbus A380 include Singapore Airlines and Qantas Airways.

Korean Air will now operate 3 flights to Seoul from Los Angeles every week. It will start operating daily flights to Seoul from October 29, 2011. The double-decker Airbus A380 is configured with 407 seats and is equipped with 3 bars and on-board duty-free shop. The First Class section in the aircraft has lie-flat seats.

Besides Los Angeles, Korean Air has also deployed Airbus A380 on its Hong Kong, New York and Paris routes. The airline has introduced the A380 superjumbos since June this year, and has said that the A380 had been doing very well and been very profitable.

Korean Air also disclosed that it is planning to start flights to South America. The destinations are still being considered. The airline further revealed that it is considering introducing flights to Nairobi or Johannesburg by 2014.
