Korean Air wins operational excellence award for Airbus

The operation of Korean Air flights on Airbus aircrafts are being lauded world over. South Korea’s national flag carrier Korean Air was recently awarded for operational excellence of three Airbus aircrafts. It has become the first airline company in the world to receive such an award.

The airline in a statement said that the European aircraft maker Airbus presented the “A380 Award for Top Operational Excellence” to Korean Air at the recently held A380 Technology Symposium in Dubai.

Korean Air said that it has been presented awards for the upkeep of its Airbus A330 and A300-600 aircrafts in the past. The airline has so far won seven awards for operational excellence of its Airbus aircrafts.

The airline stated that after adding an award for operational excellence of A380 it has become the first airline company in the world to get the Triple Crown honor.

Currently, Korean Air has a fleet of five Airbus A380 aircrafts, 23 Airbus A330 aircrafts and three A300-600 aircrafts. The airline is planning to add five more Airbus A330 aircrafts in its fleet by the end of 2014.
