Lufthansa deploys 747-8 Intercontinental to Los Angeles

Germany’s national flag carrier Lufthansa recently announced it has now upgraded its flights services between Frankfurt and Los Angeles.

The airline in a statement said that Lufthansa flights on Frankfurt-Los Angeles route will be operated with the help of 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft. The airline was earlier operating the service on Boeing 747-400 aircraft. Currently, Lufthansa is the only 747-8 Intercontinental operator in the world.

According to Lufthansa, Los Angeles has become its second destination in the United States to be served by 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft. The city is also the airline’s first destination on the west coast. So far, Lufthansa is offering 747-8 Intercontinental service on four routes.

Juergen Siebenrock, Lufthansa’s Vice President - The Americas, said that the airline is having its presence in Southern California since 1960. He said that by introducing the new flagship aircraft to Los Angeles, the airline considers the importance of this market.
