Lufthansa fliers more attracted to Birmingham Airport than London Heathrow

Travelers booking Lufthansa flights are more attracted to Birmingham Airport instead of London Heathrow airport. The findings have come after Lufthansa recently disclosed its results citing record passenger traffic from the region.

Germany’s national flag carrier Lufthansa is currently the second biggest carrier at Birmingham Airport. The airline is greatly enthused by the results and said that Birmingham Airport is outperforming all its other UK bases. The airline said that there’s great potential for business growth here.

While announcing its result, the airline said that there has been nearly 17 percent increase in Lufthansa flights tickets bookings from passengers taking flights out of Birmingham Airport for the January to August period this year. The airline said that a total of 374,310 passengers flew out of Birmingham Airport. 

Lufthansa’s General Manager for the UK and Ireland Christian Schindler said that Birmingham has proved to be quite good market for the airline and the number of passengers taking flights out of Birmingham Airport has continued to grow. Even the passengers prefer Birmingham instead of London Heathrow considering the total travel time taken into account.
