Lufthansa to operate Delhi-Frankfurt flights on Boeing 747-8 jumbo

Leading German carrier recently announced it will be operating flights between Delhi and Frankfurt with the help of the latest state-of-the-art Boeing 747-8 jumbo aircraft.

The airline in a statement said that Lufthansa flights between Frankfurt and Delhi utilizing Boeing 747-8 aircraft will start operating from August this year. The airline also stated that flights from Bengaluru will start operations later this year.

According to Lufthansa, the Boeing 747-8 aircraft will have a new business class cabin installed on it. The airline also stated that the new Boeing 747-8 aircraft would be the second such aircraft to be included in Lufthansa’s fleet.

The first Boeing 747-8 aircraft was deployed on Frankfurt-Washington route only in June this year.

Lufthansa stated that it is currently operating Boeing 747-400 aircrafts on Frankfurt-Delhi route. The airline wants to replace the existing Boeing 747-400 aircraft on this route with the new Boeing 747-8 aircraft. The airline will being operating the Boeing 747-4 flights between Delhi and Frankfurt from August 6, 2012.
