Lufthansa voted for serving best white wine in economy class

Various European carriers were recently judged for offering best wines in economy class. Lufthansa flights emerged at the top in the white wine category competition. Apart from Lufthansa, other carriers that made it out in the top three included KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and easyJet.

A tasting panel comprising 12 wine experts as well as international travelers was asked to blind taste 21 wines served by major European carriers on board the economy class. The panel was asked to provide score to the airlines out of 10.

While pronouncing their verdict, the judges agreed that the overall quality of the white wines being served on board was particularly high. The competition in this category was closely contested. 

The tasting panel also judged the carriers for serving the best red wines. The judges pronounced their verdict in favor of Thomson Airways for offering the best red wine – Finca La Linda, Cabernet Sauvignon 2011. The other two winners in this category included Scandinavian SAS Airlines and Turkey’s leading budget carrier Pegasus Airlines.
