Philippine Airlines expects to receive new Boeing aircrafts

Philippine Airlines recently announced it is expecting to seek delivery of its third and fourth Boeing 777-300ER aircrafts this year. Apart from this, the airline will also include four additional Airbus A320s in its fleet.

The airline in a statement said that with the acquisition of new aircrafts it will be aggressively expanding its route network. Philippine Airlines flights to several new destinations are also likely to be announced in the coming months with the inclusion of new Boeings and Airbus A320s in its fleet.

Vivienne K. Tan, Philippine Airlines’ Executive Vice President-Commercial Group, said that the airline is ready to further reinforce its superiority over other local carriers with the acquisition of new aircrafts this year. He said that the airline has already laid the foundation to strengthen its brand image and solidify its brand equity.

Tan recalled that the first flight of Philippine Airlines took off on March 15, 1941 at Nielsen airfield in Makati to Baguio using a twin-engine Beech Model 18 airplane, carrying a full load of five passengers. He said that after seven decades now Philippine Airlines has notched various feats and continues to be the leading carrier in Asia and Philippines first national flag carrier.
