Philippine Airlines remains at the top in international traffic among Philippine-bound carriers

Philippine-bound international carriers have showed a remarkable growth in terms of passenger traffic on international routes during the first half of this year.

Philippine’s Civil Aeronautics Board (CAP) recently revealed its data showing a significant growth in international passenger traffic. According to the data, international passenger traffic reached 8.63 million in the first half of 2012 as compared to 8.03 million during the same period last year.

CAB cited that increased number of flights to Philippines and cheap airfares are the main reasons behind the 7.41 percent growth in the number of passengers boarding flights on international routes.

According to CAB, Philippine Airlines flights remained at the top in terms of international passenger traffic among Philippine-bound international carriers. The sale of Philippine Airlines flights tickets on international route showed great improvement with international traffic going up to 2,148,076 as compared to 2,044,491 during the first half of last year.
