Philippine Airlines to reroute some flights

Some of Philippine Airlines flights are set to be rerouted this month.

The airline recently announced it is planning to reroute some of its flights considering the possible effects of the satellite launch of North Korea on a portion of Philippine territory within the month.

Philippine Airlines said in a statement that North Korean satellite’s rocket stage 2 is expected to fall just East of Luzon within the period April 12-16, 2012.

The airline stated that during this period of the expected satellite’s rocket stage 2 fall, all Philippine Airlines flights traversing this zone would be adjusting their routes within April 12-16.

The airline reiterated that passengers’ safety remains its paramount concern, and it is committed to take all effective steps in this regard.

The flights to be rerouted include PR105 Guam-Manila, PR105 San Francisco-Manila, PR103 Guam-Manila, PR103 Los Angeles-Manila, PR107 Vancouver-Manila, PR431 Narita-Manila, PR407 Kansai-Manila, PR437 Nagoya-Manila, PR467 Seoul Incheon-Manila, PR434 Cebu-Narita, PR111 Guam-Manila, and PR426 Manila-Fukuoka.
