Qatar Airways begins flights on Doha-Belgrade route

Qatar Airways recently announced it has launched its flights to Serbia. The airline in a statement said that Qatar Airways flights to Belgrade from Doha started operating from November 21, 2012. This is the 11th new route to be launched by the airline this year.

The Doha-based carrier would be operating thrice week flights to the Serbian capital city of Belgrade. Qatar Airways has deployed an Airbus A320 aircraft to operate flights on Doha-Belgrade route. The aircraft is configured in two classes, and would be 12 business class seats and 132 economy class seats.

Apart from flights to Belgrade, the airline also launched flights to Warsaw this December. With the launch of new flights services to the Polish capital Warsaw on December 5, Qatar Airways further strengthened its services to Eastern Europe.

Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, said that the airline significantly strengthened its network in Europe last year and is continuing with the expansion. In 2011, the airline launched flights on seven European routes, including Oslo, Sofia, Venice, Stuttgart, Brussels, Budapest and Bucharest.
