Qatar Airways first Boeing Dreamliner to debut on London-Doha route from December

Qatar Airways recently confirmed that its first Boeing Dreamliner aircraft would debut on London-Doha route starting from December this year.

Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways, said that the aircraft would be officially delivered to the airline in November. He also said that the airline expected to take the delivery of five Boeing Dreamliner aircrafts before the end of 2012. Qatar Airways presently has a 60-strong fleet of Boeing Dreamliner aircrafts.

Currently, Qatar Airways flights serves London-Doha route five times every day. Al Baker said that before the airline begins inaugural Dreamliner flight to London, it is significant that Heathrow Airport be further expanded.

He has urged that the UK government immediately implement the expansion at London’s Heathrow Airport. He said that there is a urgent need for a third runway at Heathrow, as this is no longer an option but is a necessity. He said that Heathrow Airport is bursting at the seams and has reached a critical point.
