Qatar Airways resumes Doha-Yangon flights after four years

Middle East’s leading carrier Qatar Airways recently announced the resumption of its flights to Myanmar. The airline in a statement said that Qatar Airways flights have again been resumed to Yangon from October 3, 2012.

The thrice weekly flights between Doha International Airport and Yangon has resumed after an interval of four years. Yangon is the former capital of Myanmar.

Qatar Airways said that the thrice weekly flights services to Yangon from the airline’s hub Doha is likely to become a daily service at the end of this month.

The airline will be deploying an Airbus A319-100LR to operate the flights on Dubai-Yangon route. The aircraft is configured with eight seats in business class and 102 seats in economy class. The thrice weekly flights will be operated on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The return flights will depart Yangon on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

Qatar Airways will be expanding its network to three new routes – Maputo, Belgrade and Warsaw.
