Saudi Arabian Airlines to implement new baggage rules from September

Passengers booking Saudi Arabian Airlines flights tickets should now brace up to see the implementation of a new baggage allowance policy in September this year.

The airline in a statement said that it will be implementing new baggage rules on international routes starting from September 1, 2012.
Saudi Arabia’s national flag carrier Saudi Arabian Airlines, also popularly known as Saudia, said that the new baggage allowance policy will be based on the “piece concept” instead of the existing “weight concept”.

Effective September 1, the new baggage rules will be automatically reflected on Saudi Arabian Airlines flights tickets booked by the passengers.

According to the airline, passengers booking Saudi Arabian Airlines flights on Economy Class would be permitted to carry only one piece of baggage of 32 kg or less. However, the passengers traveling in First Class or Business Class would be allowed to carry two pieces of baggage, each of 32 kg.
