Singapore Airlines passenger load factor increases in Sept

Singapore Airlines flights have performed remarkably in the month of September this year, according to recent media reports.

Singapore Airlines recently announced its operational results for September 2012. The airline was optimistic at the outcome. The airline said that its passenger load factor or average occupancy per airline grew by 1.0 percentage point to 80.6 percent y-o-y.

Providing further details about its operational results, the airline revealed that the number of passengers booking Singapore Airlines flights tickets also increased by 6.1 percent to 1.5 million in September this year as compared to the same month in 2011.

According to the airline, it flew 7.7 percent more passengers per kilometer during the month as compared to September last year. The airline’s capacity (which is measured in available seat kilometers) increased 6.3 percent.

Singapore Airlines disclosed that its passenger load factor increased due to a strong summer travel demand, particularly on long haul sectors for Europe and Americas route regions.
