Singapore Airlines unveils in-flight connectivity program

Here’s good news for passengers booking Singapore Airlines flights tickets. The airline recently announced it will be providing internet and mobile data services to its customers onboard their Singapore Airlines flights, even when they are flying at 35,000 feet.

The airline launched $50 million In-flight Connectivity Program aimed at providing more facilities to its customers and enable them to enjoy a great flying experience.

The in-flight connectivity program has been launched on a limited number of aircrafts being operated by the airline presently.

Singapore Airlines in a statement said that in-flight connectivity will initially be available on 14 aircrafts in the airline’s fleet, including all five Airbus A340-500 aircrafts.
 
These aircrafts are currently deployed on Newark and Los Angeles routes. The nonstop flights from Singapore on both these routes are considered to be the world’s longest.

The in-flight connectivity will allow the passengers to surf the Internet, send and receive SMS text messages with GSM-compatible mobile phones, as well as send and receive emails on smartphones and other electronic devices.
