Spirit Airlines boarding pass fee delayed until October 31

Passengers booking Spirit Airlines flights tickets and paying extra for printing their boarding passes needn’t worry at least for a few months.

The airline recently announced that passengers taking Spirit Airlines flights and required to get their boarding passes printed at an airport kiosk will not have to pay an extra $2 fee for at least four months.

The airline in a statement said that the new $2 fee, which was announced in 2011, and was to have become effective from June 30, 2012 has again been delayed for four months until October 31, 2012.
 
A spokesman of Spirit Airlines said that this decision has been taken just to ensure that all the systems of the airline are fully in place so that a proper launch may be put into effect.

The airline stated that the extra fee is being brought only for the reason that the passengers are encouraged to get their boarding passes printed before their arrival at the airport. This will significantly help in saving time as well as money for the airline.

The passengers taking Spirit Airlines recently-launched flights to Las Vegas and Dallas-Fort Worth from Phoenix-Mesa Gateway are being charged extra $5 fee for printing their boarding passes.
