Sun Country to offer more flights for Citrus Bowl, Gophers Fans delighted

Minnesota’s football team has managed to grab a place in the esteemed Citrus Bowl. This has brought in a lot of excitement, so much so that there is a deficit of flight tickets to Florida. With all the flight tickets sold out, Gophers fans were in for a huge disappointment.

However all this is history now, as Sun Country Airlines has acted upon the request made to them by the Gophers fans. They had contacted the Mendota Heights-based carrier using their Twitter handle to express their displeasure regarding non availability of air tickets, on its regular scheduled flights.

The airline has announced that it will be adding five extra direct flights between Orlando and Minneapolis-St. Paul. It will provide three additional return flights on January 1, 3 and 4.

Flight on the New Year’s Day will be a red-eye flight departing from Orlando at 11.30 p.m. This flight will land in the twin city the next day i.e. Jan 2 at 1.45 a.m. These five seasonal flights are in addition to the regularly scheduled flights operated by Sun Country Airlines between Orlando and Minneapolis-St. Paul.

Now Gopher fans will find it easy to travel to and from the big game. More than 7,000 tickets for the Citrus Bowl have already been sold.
