Swiss International Air Lines reports strong passenger traffic in first nine months

Swiss International Air Lines recently announced its operational results and expressed satisfaction at the outcome. The airline, also popularly known as SWISS, said that the sale of Swiss International Air Lines flights tickets showed a good growth in the first nine months of 2012.

Providing further details, the airline disclosed that 12,057,276 passengers boarded Swiss International Air Lines flights during the first nine months of this year, up 4.3 percent as compared to 11,564,481 passengers during the same period in 2011.

The airline in a statement said that a total of 114,103 Swiss International Air Lines flights were operated during the period, up 1.1 percent as compared to 112,915 flights operated in January-September 2011.
 
The airline said that the 83.5 percent system-wide load factor was also a 1.4 percentage point improvement for the nine month period as compared to the same duration last year.

Swiss International Air Lines also stated that its January-September available seat kilometer (ASK) capacity on intercontinental routes increased 5.7 percent as compared to same period in 2011.
