Turkish Airlines Adds more flights from Birmingham Airport

Turkish Airlines announced recently that it will up its flights service from Birmingham Airport. This will be the second seasonal boost carried forward by the airline on its Istanbul to Birmingham route.

From March 29, 2015, the airline will add two more flights on this route. With this it will offer a total of 12 flights per week on this route. This addition will offer more international and domestic connections to travelers flying from the Midlands.

Selim Ozturk, Turkish Airline’s GM for Birmingham, said Birmingham is the third largest airport in the UK, offering services to more than 9.5 millions commuters yearly and 140 direct destinations worldwide. And these numbers are expected to increase during the summer months, as it is the summer vacation time for the people living in Birmingham and the surrounding areas. This is the main reason for us to offer more connections on this route.

He further said that passenger traffic increased by nearly eight percent in the year 2014, when compared to 2013. Istanbul is a hot favorite destination amongst travelers. It proves to be a great weekend break destination and tourism soars high during the summer time, hence additional seasonal frequency on this route will help cater this increased passenger influx.
