United Airlines to buy 150 Boeing 737 aircrafts

There will be more United Airlines flights taking to the skies in future as the airline has decided to buy 150 Boeing 737 aircrafts.

United Airlines recently announced it will be acquiring 150 Boeing 737 aircrafts for which it has already placed orders with the aircraft maker Boeing Co. Such a massive order by the airline indicates that United Airlines is increasingly shifting toward Boeings.

The airline in a statement said that it has placed orders for 50 Boeing 737-900ERs, which are scheduled for delivery late next year.

Apart from this, United Airlines will also be acquiring 100 new 737 Max 9s, which are to be included in the airline’s fleet after starting delivery in 2018. The new 737 Max 9 aircraft is a revamped 737 fitted with new engines as well as other tweaks to make it more fuel efficient.
 
The airline has decided to replace its older Boeing 757-200 aircrafts by ordering 150 Boeing 737-900ER aircrafts. According to the airline, the new aircrafts being acquired will be 15 percent more fuel-efficient per seat than those being replaced.
