With $120 million upgrade Newark Liberty to don new look in 2016

Newark Liberty International Airport’s Terminal C is being upgraded at a huge cost of $120 million. United Airlines, which operates out of its third-largest hub at Newark Liberty, has planned this revamp currently underway. The upgraded terminal will be open for customers once again in 2016 after its completion.

Just sample all that the customers can look forward to with the upgrades. The airline will be installing more than 6,000 iPads throughout the terminal. This will make it easy for the travelers to conveniently order for the meals, make retail purchases, and check departure and arrival information. Moreover, the customers traveling with United Airlines will also have the option to make use of their MileagePlus program rewards to pay for the purchase of items.

It will also become all the more easier for the airline’s customers to plug in their own electronic devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones with over 10,000 power outlets installed at the terminal. The travelers will also get complimentary Wi-Fi access.

Hold your breath! The most fascinating upgrade will be in the area of food. The renovated Terminal C will house 55 new dining venues where the customers will be enjoy their meals created by some of the best chefs. Now, placing orders for food will be an iPad away. It will be quite easier for the travelers to place orders for delicious cuisines with the help of 6,000 iPads installed at the terminal. They won’t have to wait longer for their meals to arrive. The delivery times for the food will be merely 15 minutes only.

The travelers will be able to treat themselves to a wide range of culinary choices. The meals will be prepared from fresh, locally sourced ingredients and would be prominently highlighting local and regional dining experiences. The food will range from authentic shwarma to pit-fired BBQ, Mexican street food to French bistro fare. Renowned chefs have been hired to create the menu. They include Elizabeth Kamel, Wilson Tang, Alex Stupak, Elizabeth Falkner, Mario Carbone, Alex Guarnaschelli, Paul Liebrandt, Marc Forgione and Alain Ducasse among others.

An array of outstanding beverages options will also be available for the travelers. A whiskey bar named “John Delucie’s Proof”, a wine bar called “Kevin Pemoulie’s Oeno”, and Dale Talde’s Caps Beer Garden will be among other major highlights at the airport’s revamped Terminal C.
