AA to begin first nonstop service to China from DFW on June 11

With summer season in full swing, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) expects to remain busiest in 2014 with at least 17 million passengers making use of the airport. Officials at the airport said that many airlines will be launching flights to new destinations this summer.

American Airlines has already indicated that it will be launching new flights services to Shanghai and Hong Kong starting from June 11, 2014. This will be the airline’s first nonstop flights to these key Chinese cities from Dallas/Fort Worth. Another Middle East carrier Qatar Airways will also launch its new flights to Doha from DFW starting from July 1.

Ken Buchanan, Executive Vice President of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, said that the airline takes pride in opening of Phase Two of Terminal A Parking facility, which will significantly improve customer experience at the airport.

Buchanan and other officials at DFW were upbeat over the launch of the first nonstop flights to China from here. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, which is currently the third busiest airport in the world, expects to welcome 17 million passengers through the entire summer season starting from June 1 until August 31. The airport officials are also quite hopeful that the summer of 2014 will prove to be busiest ever season at the airport, with an increase of 2.4 percent as compared to 2013.

Buchanan outlined various achievements at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport this summer. A new 10-gate concourse was opened at DFW on May 7 in Terminal B. The Phase Two of parking facility at Terminal A was opened at the airport on May 17. This will help customers to find parking spaces easily and conveniently. As already stated DFW will see the launch of its first nonstop flights to Shanghai and Hong Kong with the help of American Airlines starting from June 11. Qatar Airways will also be launching new daily flights to Doha effective from July 1. In another landmark achievement, the Phase Two of Automated Passport Control system will be formally opened at DFW in July this year. With the addition of 24 more kiosks, there will be a total of 54 kiosks at the airport now. This will enable Legal Permanent Residents and customers from 38 visa waiver countries to be electronically processed.

Further, the second edition of Official DFW Airport Mobile App will be released on August 1. The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will also start the maiden commuter rail service straight to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport starting from August 18.
