AC Hotels by Marriott to open in Kansas City Westport in Nov

Another Marriott brand is soon to open next month in Kansas City. Media reports recently said that the former Q Hotel + Spa situated at 560 Westport Road in now being reopened as a Marriott brand. The reports said that the AC Hotels by Marriott is scheduled to open in mid-November 2014 at the same location in Kansas City.

The 123-room hotel was purchased by an investment firm last year. The multimillion-dollar renovation of the hotel is now nearing completion. The AC Hotels by Marriott brand was by the investment firm and its operating company Interstate Hotels & Restaurants to add a European-style hotel to the market. The AC Hotels is presently found in 90 locations throughout Portugal, Spain, Italy and France.

According to reports, the AC Hotels by Marriott Kansas City Westport was originally planned to become the brand’s second hotel in the United States, with the first one being the AC Hotels New Orleans Downtown/French Quarter. Hugh Chandler, general manager for the new Kansas City hotel, has however indicated that it could become the first of its kind hotel in the U.S. edging out New Orleans for the exclusive first-in-the-nation honors.
   
Both the new hotels – AC Hotels by Marriott Kansas City Westport and AC Hotels by Marriott New Orleans – will be exquisitely designed blending a European boutique-hotel feel with an urban American setting. The two hotels will be encouraging the customers to enjoy their stay with best cuisines and live entertainment on offer along with other attractions in the host city.

Chandler revealed that AC Hotels’ “whole concept and tag line is ‘Feel the City’.” He said that the hotel will be offering 1,000 square feet of meeting space, with the common areas including the AC Library, AC Lounge and AC Lobby. The idea is to offer customers opportunity to socialize, explore, connect and work. Apart from these, the AC Hotels by Marriott Kansas City Westport will be offering various amenities as well. These include mobile phone check-in service, USB charging stations and a fitness center.
