Aer Lingus to introduce extra-large seat concept on A320 planes

Aer Lingus has some good news for extra large passengers traveling with it. The budget carrier is contemplating adding extra wide seats on its planes for the comfort of its passengers. The airline is concerned with the number of obese passengers traveling with it and the problems that they have to face while seating on them.

The flagship Aer Lingus of Ireland offers Cheap Airfares to over 70 destinations across Europe, United States, and North Africa. While the airline has shown its keenness to go ahead with the new age idea of wider seats, other rival airline in the country has dismissed the idea altogether. In fact, French manufacturer Airbus has offered to fit its A320 aircraft with extra large seats for the benefit of the overweight passengers. The manufacturer has termed this move as a significant trend in demographics. The Irish airline will install extra large seats as aisle seats to reduce the hassle of passengers adjusting into standard seats. Interestingly, it operates A320 series planes on short-haul routes between Ireland and destinations across Europe.

As per the specifications, the airline will introduce extra large seats that are 20-inch wide instead of the current 18-inch mark. However, passengers will have to shell out extra fee to acquire these special seats. The airline management is excited about the change and waits to see the outcome of this innovative move. A company official said that it will monitor the demand for these seats and basis the results will decide the future course of action.
