Aer Lingus to make business class travel easy with seat auction

Get ready for a luxurious trip on Aer Lingus from now onwards! This good news is particularly important for those traveling to/from the United States and Canada. Aer Lingus has announced that it will be offering passengers to/from North America opportunity to bid for business class seats.

Aer Lingus provided details about its unique seat auction system on its official website. The airline asked its passengers traveling in Economy Class on transatlantic routes to consider traveling in style in its business class cabin by seeking an upgrade through this new seat auction. The airline exhorted the customers to reveal the amount they are willing to pay for business class seat auction. If the bid will be successful, the customers will be able to experience the airline’s luxurious business class flights.

The airline in a statement said that the customers will be sent an email as soon as they book their Economy Class seats. The email will invite the customers to participate in the seat auction for an upgrade. According to Aer Lingus, the lowest possible bid is expected to be about 300 Euros. The airline however said that the bid amount will vary day to day mostly depending on the route, flight schedule, day of week, time of year, and the prevailing passenger demands for business class seats on that particular flight.

The seat auction will be transparent. The “offer strength” tool will act as an indicator to the passengers providing sufficient hints whether their offer is likely to be accepted or not. Aer Lingus stated that the seat auction window will close five days before the scheduled departure of that particular flight. The successful bid at around 300 Euro will ultimately prove to be beneficial for the passengers as they will able be to travel in business class at rates far below the usual airfares.
