Aeromexico adds once a week flight to Santa Clara

Aeromexico, the flagship carrier of Mexico launched a weekly flight between Distrito Federal and Santa Clara, a city located in central Cuba. Santa Clara is a tourist hotspot and the gateway to the northern shorelines of Villa Clara. The airline recently operated its first flight on the new route.

The carrier will offer once a week service to the Abel Santamaria International Airport in the Cuban city. This airport receives travelers from across the world in large numbers. Lately the airport witnessed the growing number of passenger traffic from various destinations located in Canada, Argentina, France, and the United Kingdom. Travelers looking to escape into the bounties of nature in Santa Clara can book themselves plane tickets on Aeromexico.

Francel Rodriguez, an official with the Ministry of Tourism said that the airport greeted more than 167,000 tourists between January and June this year. He further added that the airport saw an increase of 22% compared to the same period in 2012.

Aeromexico is based in Mexico City and the airline operates out of its primary hub in the Mexico City International Airport. The airline connects Mexico City to various destinations across North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia.
