Air Canada checked baggage policy revised

Air Canada recently announced that it has revised its checked baggage policy for its customers with an Economy Class ticket issued on or after September 7, 2011 for undertaking travel on or after October 11, 2011.

The airline said that a first bag fee of US$25 CAD/USD is applicable for travel between Canada and US. Besides, the airline also said that a second bag fee of US$70 CAD/USD is applicable for travel to the Middle East, Africa, Australia/South America and Russia/Asia from Canada/USA.

According to Air Canada, Star Alliance Silver as well as Air Canada’s customers not part of its Top Tier program holding Executive Class/First Class ticket will be allowed to check only two bags instead of the earlier three without paying any charges.

Air Canada also said that the second baggage fees, which is already being charged for Economy Class flights to Canada, USA, Europe, India and the Caribbean will continue to remain unchanged.
