Air Canada launching Boeing 787-8 flights to Brisbane next June

Air Canada recently announced it will be launching a Boeing 787 Dreamliner service to Australia in June 2016.  Media reports said that the airline will start operating flights to Brisbane from Vancouver effective from June 17.

The reports said that the airline will initially start offering thrice weekly nonstop service between the two destinations. Later on, the new service is expected to be increased to a daily service. The new Vancouver-Brisbane route is however subject to regulatory approval.

A spokesperson of Air Canada, while providing the details of the flight schedule, said that the outbound flight AC35 would make its departure from Vancouver at 23:45 hours and would arrive in Brisbane at 07:15 hours after two days. The flights would be operated on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The return flight AC36 would depart from Brisbane at 10:40 hours and reach Vancouver at 07:15 hours the same day. The flights would be operated on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft being deployed by Air Canada to serve on Brisbane-Vancouver route is configured with three classes. The passengers travelling between the two destinations would be offered 20 seats in business class, 21 seats in premium economy and 210 seats in economy class.

Calin Rovinescu, President and CEO of Air Canada, said, “The company is delighted to announce the launch of its third new Pacific Brisbane-Vancouver route in the past year, after Toronto-Tokyo Haneda and Vancouver-Osaka. Air Canada will become the only airline to offer nonstop, year-round flights services from Canada to Brisbane.”
