Air Canada set to hand over many routes to its budget wing Rouge

Air Canada is toying with the idea of launching its budget wing Rouge to various West Coast destinations in the United States. The Air Canada Rouge is set to offer flights from Vancouver to the popular gateways in the western part of the neighboring country. The much-anticipated launch is set for April end and the management is hopeful that it will benefit from this strategic decision.

As per the reports, the airline will embark on its journey from Vancouver and Calgary to Las Vegas. The airline said post the Rouge launch to Las Vegas, it will commence flights to Anchorage, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The airline also confirmed the start of seasonal flights from Vancouver and Calgary to Phoenix from December next year. Air Canada is the flagship carrier of Canada and is one of the preferred choices for booking airline tickets to several destinations around the world. It is indeed planning to expand the wings of its low-cost airline as a part of its strategic decision. Overall, the airline group aims at making both its carriers a profitable venture.

It believes that Rouge can take over certain routes in a cost effective manner. The airline is keen to deploy it to markets that are in demand as popular leisure destinations yet face stiff competition from low-cost carriers operating service. The airline is looking forward to cutting its expenses by accommodating maximum passengers onboard. The plan is to hand over more destinations to Rouge after it takes the delivery of newly ordered aircrafts subsequently transferring Boeing 767s and Airbus A319s to its low-cost wing. Travelers should expect Rouge service from Toronto to Phoenix and San Diego soon.
