Air Canada to deploy Dreamliner aircraft on more Asian routes

Air Canada is planning to extend its Dreamliner 787 service from Vancouver to more destinations in Asia. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner features the carrier’s new International Business Class. The airline will deploy the aircraft on Vancouver- Beijing route in February 2015 with Seoul following in March. The Dreamliner has already debuted in Vancouver on airline’s Vancouver-Shanghai route in October. Starting December 15, 2014, the aircraft will also fly on Vancouver-Tokyo/Narita route.

The Dreamliner aircraft features International Business Class cabin, Premium Economy and Economy cabin. The International Business Class consists of 20 Executive Pods placed in 1-2-1 configuration providing direct aisle access. The lie-flat seats recline to 180 degrees and the headrest includes one-of-a-kind massage function. The 18-inch entertainment screens are the largest in any North American carrier’s business class and unique with enhanced definition intuitive touch. The elite travelers also get to relish Lavazza espressos and freshly brewed cappuccinos while they pamper themselves with Escents Aromatherapy products made in Canada.

The Premium Economy cabin consists of 21 seats positioned in a 2-3-2 configuration with more legroom, wider seats, complimentary bar service, priority check-in and a lot more. The Economy cabin comprises of 210 slimline seats with 3-3-3 configuration.

The Dreamliner series is fuel efficient which will fortify the carrier’s plans to serve new destinations and replace existing Boeing 767 fleet with Dreamliner aircrafts. The Canada’s biggest carrier launched this aircraft first on Toronto-Tokyo/Haneda in July, 2014. Thereafter, Toronto-Tel Aviv flights started operating Boeing 787-8 in August. The airline also plans to deploy this aircraft on Toronto- Paris flights starting March 27, 2015 followed by London on April 30. The airline will also use this aircraft on Toronto-Tokyo/Narita route from May 1, 2015.
