Air Canada to expand business class on its entire Boeing 777 fleet

Air Canada has announced it will be expanding its new International Business Class products on all its Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 777-300LR aircrafts. The airline will thus be including seven more such aircrafts than announced earlier.

The airline has also indicated that it will be reconfiguring its aircrafts and equip them with the new Premium Economy cabins as well. A spokesperson of the airline said that the airline’s seating standard and three-cabin international product will now be extended across all of its 25 Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 777-200LR aircrafts in its fleet, in accordance with the seating arrangements on its new Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet.

The spokesperson further disclosed that the airline will also be reconfiguring its fleet of 8 Airbus A330-300 aircrafts with the new Premium Economy cabins. The current International Business Class and Economy Class cabins on the Airbus A330-300 aircrafts fleet will however remain unchanged.

The airline in a statement said that it is planning to start reconfiguring its Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 fleet in Q4 2015 and expects to complete it by H2 2016.

The airline’s International Business Class cabin will be featuring 180-degree lie-flat comfortable ergonomic seats. The cabin will consist of 30 Executive Pods on its Boeing 787-8 and Boeing 787-9 aircrafts. The newly reconfigured Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 777-200LR aircrafts will have up to 40 seats in the cabins. The seats will have adjustable pneumatic cushion system that could be extended to a sleeping position which is fully flat.

Air Canada is also presently the only carrier in the entire North American region to offer upgraded seating in its Premium Economy cabins featuring wider seats, ample personal space and greater recline and legroom.
