Air China adding flights to Los Angeles from May 2

Air travel between the United States and China has gained immense popularity of late and so has the increase in the number of flights services by many international airlines. The capacity on China-U.S. routes is being increased continuously.

China’s national carrier Air China has recently announced that it will be increasing its capacity further with the addition of more flights to Los Angeles from Beijing effective from May 2015. The airline’s decision is aimed at boosting its presence in the North American market.

The airline in a statement said that the additional flight between the two cities will be operated four times every week. According to Air China, Flight CA8878 will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays starting from May 2 through June 30, 2015. Later on the service will become daily effective from July 1 through October 24, 2015. The outbound flight will make its departure from Beijing at 12:00 and arrive in Los Angeles at 09:00 local time. The inbound flight will take off from Los Angeles at 11:30 and reach Beijing at 15:10 local time. The airline will be deploying a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to operate the flights on Beijing-Los Angeles route.
 
Air China is currently the largest carrier serving the two countries. The airline first started offering nonstop flights services on three U.S. routes from 2013 to 2014. These included Beijing-Washington D.C., Beijing-Honolulu and Beijing-Houston routes.
 
A total of seven destinations in North America is being presently served by the airline. These cities include Vancouver, Honolulu, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Houston, Los Angeles and New York. The airline is operating 104 flights per week to these cities.
