Air China recently announced it will introduce nonstop flights to Montreal from Beijing effective from September 29, 2015. This will be the world’s first transpacific nonstop flights services between Montreal and Asia.
The new nonstop service between the two destinations is part of China’s national flag carrier move to strengthen its position in the China-Canada market. The new service is also aimed at meeting the growing passenger demand, and promoting the cultural and economic exchanges between the two countries.
Air China is presently offering 10 flights per week between Canada and China. The airline is also conducting strategic joint operations with Air Canada. Both the airlines are also members of Star Alliance as well.
Media reports said that through its partnership Air China will be able to put its code on Air Canada flights operating between Vancouver and six other Canadian cities including Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton. The Beijing-Montreal service has also come as a boon as the passengers travelling from Canada will be able to conveniently connect to South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia, while the Chinese travellers can connect to destinations in the Americas and different parts of the world.
The reports stated that Air China will be conducting flights between Montreal and Beijing thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The outbound flight will depart from Beijing at 13:00 hour local time and reach Montreal at 13:50 hour local time. The inbound flight will depart from Montreal at 16:20 hour local time and reach Beijing at 18:00 hour local time next day.
A spokesperson of Air China said that the flights between Beijing and Montreal will be operated with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which is hugely popular with those who prefer to travel in business class cabins. The airline will be offering a central bar and full-flat seats to its premium customers booking first class or business class tickets.
Among other destinations served by Air China in North America, includes Hawaii, Vancouver, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington and New York.
