China’s national carrier Air China recently announced it will launch its flights to Havana from Beijing via Montreal starting from December 27, 2015. The airline earlier initiated the process of its southward extension of Beijing-Montreal service to Havana on September 29 this year.
The extension of service will now enable the customers to make a brief stopover in Montreal and then proceed on to Havana to experience the romantic Latin American charms of the “Jewel of the Caribbean”.
The new Beijing-Montreal-Havana flights will be operated thrice weekly on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The outbound Flight CA879 will depart from Beijing at 14:00 hours and arrives in Montreal at 13:40 hours and Havana at 20:15 hours. The return Flight CA880 will make its departure from Havana at 09:00 hours and arrive in Montreal at 12:30 hours and Beijing at 17:30 hours next day. The service on the route will be operated with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Media reports said that with the new extended service Air China will now be serving a total of ten destinations in the Americas, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington, New York, Sao Paulo, Hawaii, Montreal, Vancouver, Houston and Havana. The airline will now be offering over 140 flights per week seamless connecting North America, South America and Central America.
The reports said that the new Beijing-Montreal-Havana service will be the first of its kind between Cuba and China thus making it convenient for the travelers in Cuba and the Caribbean to take advantage of the flexible travel options to gain easy access to China and other Asian destinations.
