Air China launching new Los Angeles-Shenzhen flights from Dec 7

Air China has announced it will be launching new flights from Los Angeles to Shenzhen effective from December 7, 2017. This will be the airline’s first direct service between China’s City of the Future Shenzhen and Southern Californian city Los Angeles. The route will be served with thrice weekly nonstop service utilizing the newly acquired Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Air China, a prominent Star Alliance member, is also currently operating thrice daily flights between Beijing and Los Angeles.

A spokesperson of Air China while providing details about the new schedule said that Flight CA769 will depart from Shenzhen at 23:30 hours and arrive in Los Angeles at 20:00 hours. The return Flight CA770 will make its departure from Los Angeles at 22:50 hours and reach Shenzhen at 5:40+2 hours. The roundtrip flights would be operated with the help of a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, configured with three travel classes – 30 seats in business class (Capital Pavilion), 34 seats in Premium Economy and 229 seats in Economy Class. The aircraft will have a carrying capacity of a total of 293 seats. The flights would be operated thrice weekly on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

China therefore considers Los Angeles as one of the top trading partners. Both the leading superpowers of the world are committed to strengthen and grow trade and cultural relations. The new nonstop flights between Shenzhen and Los Angeles are expected to bring the two of the world’s premier innovation and technology hubs closer than before.” It may be noted that a study by the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) recently said that majority of investments from China are now regularly coming into the United States, and mostly originates from Guangdong Province of which Guangzhou and Shenzhen are the parts.
