Air China orders five next generation Boeing 747-8i aircrafts

In order to expand its international routes Air china, has recently placed an order of 5 next generation Boeing 747-8i jetliners. With this order the Chinese national carrier will become the first one to buy the passenger version of the new 747-8 aircraft. The agreement has been subject for the Chinese government approval.

"Air China has been operating 747s since the 1980s. The new, high capacity Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental will deliver exceptional economics and a great flying experience to our customers," said, He Li, vice president of Air China.

The new 747-8i aircraft, which is configured into three classes and holds the capacity of 467 passengers, also features a new wing design and an upgraded flight deck. The new aircrafts will also provide greater space and comfort to the passengers.
