Air China to operate Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Newark Liberty

Air China recently announced it will start operating a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft between New York’s Newark Liberty International Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport starting from December 2, 2017. The airline is currently serving the route with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, which will be replaced with the Dreamliner.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft to be operated between Beijing and New York will be configured with three classes. The airline will be introducing Premium Economy cabin with a total of 34 seats. The first class cabin offering a total of 8 seats on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft presently would be scrapped on the Dreamliner. Apart from this, the airline has also decided to curtail the number of seats being offered on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The Dreamliner will now have 30 seats in business class, instead of the 42 seats being offered on Boeing 777-300ER. The premium customers booking business class tickets for travel on Beijing-Newark Liberty route would be offered fully flat seats.

A spokesperson of Air China said that the Beijing-Newark Liberty route would be offered thrice weekly service utilizing the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. The spokesperson also provided the detail about the new flight schedule as well. Flight CAB19 will depart from Beijing at 11:05 hours and arrive in Newark Liberty at 11:25 hours. The return Flight CAB20 will make its departure from Newark Liberty at 13:25 hours and reach Beijing at 16:10 hours next day. The flights would be operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Meanwhile, Air China has also announced flight schedule change on Beijing-New York JFK route effective from October 29, 2017 onwards. The airline will continue to serve the route five-times per week with the help of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The Flight CA989 which is currently departs from Beijing at 09:00 hours in the morning will now become a late evening service with departure at 23:25 hours. The flight arrives in New York JFK at 10:20 hours same morning, but will now be arriving at 22:55 hours in the same evening according to the new schedule.
