Air China to re-launch service to London Gatwick

Air China announced its decision to re-launch flights between London Gatwick and Beijing from next summers. The airline had earlier decided to cancel this route through this winter season. Air China commenced its operations to London on March 30, 2012. Its maiden flight used the services of Airbus A330-200 aircraft.

Air China, which offers business class flights to passengers between the city pair, admitted that London is indeed an important global destination. The flagship carrier of China believes that London is important in terms of economics, and tourism for both China and the U.K. The management at the airline is happy and pleased to reintroduce the service to the capital city of the U.K. and one of the prime cities in the world.

The news has spread a wave of joy for Gatwick. The airport will now cater to a number of long haul flights. In the past 18 months, many important Asian and American carriers have decided to use its premises for their operations. Stewart Wingate, the CEO of Gatwick Airport said that demand between China, and the U.K. has marked a remarkable increase and Gatwick has played a pivotal role. Gatwick is helping in establishing connections between London and different cities from across the globe. As far as the Gatwick-Beijing route is concerned, it has proved to be viable and profitable for the airline. This is a primary reason for the airline to re-launch the service next summer.
