Air France KLM passenger traffic up in September 2011

Air France KLM recently announced the operational results for the month of September 2011 and are calling it positive. The airline has reported a rise in its passenger traffic, load factor and capacity in September this year.

According to the September operational results, the passenger traffic in the month showed an improvement of 9.3% to 19.31 billion revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs), from 17.66 billion RPKs during the same month in 2010.

The airline disclosed that its capacity upped 7.5% in terms of available seat-kilometers (ASK), from 21.09 billion ASK to 22.66 billion ASK as compared to the same month last year. The airline also stated that its load factor increased 1.5 points, from 83.8% to 85.2%.

Air France KLM, while revealing the results for Europe including France, outlined that its passenger traffic improved 9.5% and capacity grew 7.3%. It also stated that its load factor increased 1.6% to 78.2%.

Regarding operational results in the Americas, Air France KLM revealed that there was a 12.2% increase in passenger traffic; capacity improved 10.8%; and load factor was up 1.1% to 90.6%. Besides, in Asia/Pacific the airline stated that the growth in passenger traffic was 9.7%; capacity growth was 9.4%; and load factor grew 0.3 percentage points to 88.8%.
