Air New Zealand to begin nonstop flights to Houston December 2015

Air New Zealand will mark its 75th anniversary of operations in April 2015. To celebrate the occasion, New Zealand’s national carrier has announced it will be launching its new nonstop flights to Houston in December this year.
 
The launch of new service to Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) will make the city Air New Zealand’s fifth North American gateway. The flights will be operated from Auckland and the airline will be deploying its newly refitted Boeing 777-200 aircraft to provide services on the route.

The airline in a statement said that the nonstop flights on Houston-Auckland route will be operated five times per week. The flights will start operating from mid-December and the plane tickets will be up for sale in May.

Air New Zealand, which will be celebrating its 50 years of operations to North America later this year, has indicated that it will offer codeshare services on Auckland-Houston route with the help of its Star Alliance partner United Airlines. Apart from Houston, the airline is also currently providing nonstop flights services to other U.S. cities as well including Honolulu, Vancouver, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Houston Mayor Annise Parker has welcomed Air New Zealand’s decision to launch nonstop flights services to George Bush Intercontinental Airport and said that this tremendous step forward will further boost seamless connections to Houston.

Over the past several years the city of Houston has emerged as a global gateway city and is presently handling nonstop flights services from nearly 200 airports, both from the United States and around the world.
