AirAsia honored with World’s Leading Low-Cost Airline title

AirAsia Berhad, the low cost airline of Malaysia has achieved a great honor for itself. The budget carrier added a golden feather to its cap after it was voted as the World’s Leading Low-Cost Airline. The airline was honored at a glittering ceremony on the eve of World Travel Awards held in Doha recently.

The airline, which offers cheap flights to its passengers, had to face stiff competition from its global rivals. It however, emerged winner after defeating eight other budget carriers in the category. It beat the likes of London based EasyJet, and Dallas, United States based Southwest Airlines, to clinch the coveted title.

The airline management is pleased with the results. It is basking in the glory of this great achievement. The management accepted the award and said it is a great honor for the airline to win this prestigious title. The airline, which is set to celebrate its 12th anniversary this month, has been working hard to offer services and amenities at par with a world-class airline. The airline that emerged to fulfill the passenger demand in Malaysia is spreading its wings in the global sky. At present, the airline offers services to 78 destinations across the globe including Abu Dhabi, Adelaide, Bangkok, Beijing, Paris, Darwin, and London.
