Airberlin offering FullFlat business class seats to San Francisco

Airberlin has recently launched new nonstop flights to San Francisco from Berlin. The new service on the route will be operated 4-times per week with the help of Airbus A330-200 aircrafts. The departure from Berlin Tegel Airport will be at 9:40 am (local time) and arrives at San Francisco International Airport at 11:55 am (local time). The flight duration will be of nearly 12 hours.

 Thomas Winkelmann, CEO of Airberlin, said, “The airline is serving a total of five destinations in the United States presently. San Francisco is the third new route being launched this summer. The other two new destinations where flights have already been launched include Orlando and Los Angeles. The launch of new routes is part of our long-haul expansion strategy, and we want to successfully compete with our rivals by operating flights to/from Berlin and Dusseldorf.”

Media reports said that Airberlin will be operating all its flights to the United States utilizing Airbus A330-200 aircrafts. The customers booking business class tickets would be offered a total of 19 FullFlat seats in business class cabins. Apart from the luxurious seats, the premium customers would be offered delicious meals and beverages along with other amenities.

The reports further stated that Airberlin will be offering a total of 46 XL seats for comfortable travel. These exclusive seats would be offered to economy class customers offering them 20 percent more legroom. The airline claims to provide the largest seat pitch on transatlantic routes in comparison to other airlines operating on these routes.

Additionally, the customers booking flight tickets for travel in economy class cabins on long-haul transatlantic routes can avail the opportunity of restaurant service named “airgusto” and order for a variety of gourmet meals procured from upscale Berlin restaurants. The customers would be able to order their meals up to 12 hours prior to departure. The airline said that this restaurant service in an alternative to the normal inflight catering service offering a wide choice of delectable cuisines.
