Airberlin to launch direct service from Dusseldorf to Madrid

Airberlin is serious about expanding its international network. The airline, which serves as Germany’s second largest carrier is set to open a new route between Germany and Spain. It plans to connect the cities of Dusseldorf and Madrid beginning January 13, 2014.

Its new service will allow the passengers to book airline tickets and travel nonstop between these two cities. The airline looks forward to this service as an opportunity to strengthen its presence in the Iberian Peninsula. It already operates a service between the German capital of Berlin and Spanish capital Madrid. The carrier launched Berlin-Madrid route in February 2013.

The airline will be operating this route with a daily service. It is happy with this decision and expects the route to generate positive results. As per the schedule, the flight from Dusseldorf will depart at 7:50 am and arrive in Madrid at 10:15 am. The return flight will depart Madrid at 11:10 am and arrive in Dusseldorf at 1:40 pm.

The carrier is located in Berlin and operates out of its hubs at Berlin-Tegel Airport and Düsseldorf International Airport. Currently, it flies to several destinations across the Mediterranean, Canary Islands, North Africa, Southeast Asia, Caribbean, and the Americas.

It is a popular airline for short haul travel within Europe and is the seventh largest European airline in terms of passengers carried.
