Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is ready to welcome yet another new international carrier from next spring. North Texas travellers can now look forward to connect to Germany and other European destinations with Airberlin, which is ready to launch its nonstop flights to Dusseldorf from Dallas/Fort Worth starting May 6, 2016.
Germany’s second largest airline Airberlin has said it will be operating four-time weekly nonstop flights between the two cities, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The airline will deploy Airbus A330-200 aircrafts, configured with two classes – Business Class and Economy Class – to serve the new Dusseldorf-DFW route.
Airberlin will become the seventh airline to launch flights services from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport during the past three years. Among other carriers to introduce flights from DFW include Japan Airlines, American Airlines, Etihad Airways, Qantas Airways, Qatar Airways and Emirates Airline.
Japan Airlines resumed its flights to Dallas/Fort Worth from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport after a gap of 14 years. The airline started its flights operations effective from November 30, 2015. American Airlines launched its flights to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong from DFW in 2014. The airline also started flight operations on Seoul-DFW route in 2013. Etihad Airways started serving Abu Dhabi-Dallas/Fort Worth route in December 2015. Other leading Middle East carriers Qatar Airways and Emirates Airline also started operating out of Dallas/Fort Worth to Doha and Dubai from July 2014 and early 2012 respectively. Australia’s national carrier Qantas Airways also launched its flights to Sydney from DFW in September 2014.
Media reports said that Airberlin will start offering 15 new flights services per week effective from next spring to the United States. The airline will be offering a total of 58 weekly flights to the U.S. from Dusseldorf and Berlin.
